Is it possible to turn off the check engine light for a smog test. Is it possible to turn off the check engine light off by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. If so I'd appreciate steps how to accomplish this as I am not very knowledgable.

Is the check engine light on? If so, read the codes via the OBDII port under the coin tray. Any chain auto parts store will do this for you for free. If no CEL, see below: If you rev it in park and then let off the gas, does the RPM gradually settle back down to around 1000 RPM, or does it dip down...

When I am driving and I am stopped at a light, or slowing down to stop, the car shuts off and all the lights turn on (see picture). I am able to restart the car and drive no problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
