When I am driving and I am stopped at a light, or slowing down to stop, the car shuts off and all the lights turn on (see picture). I am able to restart the car and drive no problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

So the codes I got were: P0440 P0445jblackburn wrote:Is the check engine light on? If so, read the codes via the OBDII port under the coin tray. Any chain auto parts store will do this for you for free.
If no CEL, see below:
If you rev it in park and then let off the gas, does the RPM gradually settle back down to around 1000 RPM, or does it dip down to 500 and return, "hunt" for idle speed, or die?
I think your issue could be either a big vacuum leak or a dirty idle control valve.
The idle control valve can be removed and cleaner with a can of carburetor cleaner.

That's a hugemous air leak. Fix that hose and your car will probably run.DrewsT5 wrote:I have had these very same symptoms. Car is not driveable now and has benn sitting in the garage for a while until I can figure out what to do and/or save money to fix. When I parked it the first thing I though it could be was teh idle control valve, since my idle was sporadic and stalling. I did take pictures of what I found. So, when I popped the hood and then took the cover off I found that the hose had either been cut or sheared off. I'm not sure how this happened though.
Any thoughts?
