OK, I'll be changing plugs, but as far as a compression test goes we had one done by our local euro specialist and he didn't give me exact numbers but did say that all was well and that compression numbers were excellent. Now when you mentioned fuel trim staying up at 5% that makes me wonder because...

OK, I forgot to mention the gauges only resume working after the car has sat overnight or thru my shift at work 8-11hours. I have jiggled the key near violently and its had no affect whatsoever.

My fiances 98 c70 2.3 is having a odd issue with the gauges they will work fine for about twenty minutes and then they die, the digital information at the bottom of the cluster and lights will still function but speed, tach, temp, and oil pressure all die this happens both when the abs and traction ...

I myself replaced the entire pcv system, and thehead has been rebuilt. Those lifters are a pain to disassemble that's for sure. But in the end this car should last just about forever with its new timing belt, rebuilt head and new water pump.

update* So the head is shot, it was warped like a u. so new head is purchased and being installed and judging onn the appearance of the head bolts its not the first time the head has been off. also not the first time the old headbolts were used!

Well its the head gasket.. but it is being repaired for quite a steal I may add. Hopefully all will be well after this

Can't check the pressure right now because now the car won't even start. Hoping it's just the battery.
