Has my Purge Valve Failed?
Yesterday when I was replacing my vacuum hoses, I attached a 12V source to the purge valve connections to test to see if it's still functioning correctly. When the 12V was applied, the valve would make a ticking sound as if it were opening/closing, but there appeared to be nothing happening when I l...

Re: Diagnosing an EVAP leak on motronic 4.4
I just replaced all my vacuum hoses this weekend with silicone hoses (http://www.siliconeintakes.com/index.php?cPath=18&osCsid=c5c210640dc9a3c5e0789073e1f9c024). Here is what I learned. Hose #1 is 6 mm. Hose #2 is 8 mm. A 4 mm hose works for the smallest vacuum hoses (like the ones on the back o...

Re: Diagnosing an EVAP leak on motronic 4.4
The reason I ask is because is because the blue hose (#1) in the attachment is by far the longest vacuum hose I want to replace. So when I purchase 10-15 feet for this hose, I want to make sure its the right size. I do like your advice about keeping a variety of vacuum hose sizes around. BTW, which ...

Re: Diagnosing an EVAP leak on motronic 4.4
Can anyone confirm what hose size to get for the Blue (#1) and Red (#2) hoses listed in the attachment? I'm getting ready to replace all my vacuum hoses with silicone and I'd love to know exactly which hoses to get. I looked at the link posted by cn90, but I couldn't find a definite answer. I'm thin...

Re: Vacuum Elbows Required with Silicone Hoses?
I can confirm that my charcoal canister is located under the driver's side front near the fender. Also, it is rectangular in shape and not circular.

Re: Vacuum Elbows Required with Silicone Hoses?
I currently don't know where my charcoal canister is located. I tried looking under the hood the other day, but I couldn't find the canister on the driver's side since the battery is in the way. Though based on the vacuum diagram on the hood of my car, I'm 95% sure the canister i located under the d...

Re: Vacuum Elbows Required with Silicone Hoses?
Thanks for everyone's help so far. I have one more question. It's probably a long shot, but I want to know the hose size of the red hose in the attached picture. Based on the link posted by jblackburn it's either 4mm or 6mm. Anyone know?

Vacuum Elbows Required with Silicone Hoses?
I tried searching for the answer to this question, but I could not find the answer. I plan on replacing all of my vacuum hoses in the spring with special attention being placed on the secondary air system hoses. I'm currently pricing out the differences between using silicone hoses and regular rubbe...
