1999 S80 Front Anti-Sway (Stabilizer) Bar Replacement
I checked the S80 Forum and didn't see a post about replacing the front anti-sway / stabilizer bar, so I'm gong to post my own. Hopefully this will be useful for others out there with 'vintage' S80s. I will include pics after I'm done, so please be patient - I've never done this before. I'm using th...

Re: 2006 xc70 crank pulley not aligned with cams
It Worked! Just like you said: 1. Marked the cams with white-out, so I could easily find the alignment marks. 2. I aligned the crank. 3. I removed the timing belt. 4. I manually turned the cams clockwise, with the timing belt top cover in place, and aligned the cams. 5. I put on the timing belt and...

Re: 2006 xc70 crank pulley not aligned with cams
OK. Things are beginning to look up. I'm glad that I never removed the cam sprockets. A generous thank you. I will try and post my progress. Please be patient. I drive a passenger van on long runs for a living and have mandatory down times to rest, so it will be a couple of days before I can get bac...

2006 xc70 crank pulley not aligned with cams
The crank pulley is 180 degrees off the mark when the cams are lined up with the notches in the timing belt cover. Seriously. The Ask an Expert says that I need to get a crankshaft tool, remove the starter and re-align the crank. (My terms my not be completely accurate - I'm not a trained car mechan...

Filed off Stock Code & Manufacturer's Stamp
I just received an 'OEM' part in the mail for my S60, and I noticed shiny, shallow digs on one section of the part. I compared the new part with the existing one still installed, and they look identical, even down to casting imperfections on the surface, but ... the following have been 'erased' from...

S60, 2004, Torque Rod Mount Change
The upper torque rod mount bushing is cracked halfway. I am going to replace it myself. Part - Hutchinson W0133-1660763 EOM for $44.25. Great. It looks dead easy, but ... Any hidden problems that I should look out for, like the engine shifting when the mount is removed? If it sounds like a stupid qu...
