Filed off Stock Code & Manufacturer's Stamp

I just received an 'OEM' part in the mail for my S60, and I noticed shiny, shallow digs on one section of the part. I compared the new part with the existing one still installed, and they look identical, even down to casting imperfections on the surface, but ... the following have been 'erased' from the new part:
Volvo
8649597 (this is the stock code that which I confirmed on the Volvo Part website)
8683286 (don't know) Green (the 'Green' is still on the new part)
DSK FB Poland

What the heck did I get? :?
Cheers,
Average Joe

OEM has a varied meaning. IT doesn't necessarily always mean a part that came from the manufacturer but instead it is made by the original manufacturer that made the factory fitted part.
When the parts bypass the manufacturer supply then the mfr name is ground off.
For instance an Ate master cylinder that would have "VOLVO" cast into it could have VOLVO ground off leaving Ate on it and be sold through Ate authorized distributors.
