so..finally took it in and they say the "rear end is going bad". Has anyone had this happen? Also, the shop I took it to recommends getting rid of it due to history of transmission problems...

if there is movement what would that mean?

I have a 2004 xc90 with approx 95,000...A couple months ago I had a flat which was patched and drove-on for about 2 months...during that time I started to notice a loud humming noise when driving 35-40mph. The noise gets quieter over 40mph. Have had the tires replaced but no change...any suggestions?
