Re: Input on the value of a couple broken Volvs
Thank you all so much for your feedback! I really appreciate it. I've gone ahead and listed 'em for $1000 OBO each, or $1800 for the set ;) T5-R V70R Should have added. Have you ever used vandsdismantlers near Sacramento for parts? If so how are they for pricing and service? Yes, and I can't recomme...

The previous owner’s family was friends with a dealer’s family. This was that dealer’s wife’s car, then the person’s I bought it from. It has 176k on it. I bought it with ipd exhaust, then put in an ipd chip, got a rear spoiler painted and installed that, put in a Pioneer touchscreen double din head...

SOLD: '95 Gul 854 T5-R, non-op, $1000 OBO
The interior is in decent shape considering the age (with the exception of the ubiquitous P80 sagging headliner), the exterior isn’t really. Transmission is shot, which is why it hasn’t been driven in 5 years. Glovebox is out because I was tracking down a blower issue but tranny went out before I fi...

Input on the value of a couple broken Volvs
Hi, folks, I’ve painfully decided to get rid of my two neglected babies. I’ve had the best intentions for them, but life finds a way to get in the way. And I don’t foresee a time in the near future when I’ll have the bandwidth to get them back out there. So I’m wondering if yous could give me some i...

Re: '99 V70R Front end clanking
Just a little follow up... I ended up taking it to a suspension/tire shop, but they couldn't figure out what was causing it (luckily they didn't charge me anything). So I ended up doing some more searching and found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGc1U2QhH68 It's the exact same noise. S...

Re: '99 V70R Front end clanking
Sounds almost like something hitting a heat shield or brake dust shield to me. That was my first thought too, but I can't see anything bent or rubbing or anything. check the rate of occurrence, does it coincide with a revolution of the wheel? Check with car on stands, look at inside lip of the rim ...

Re: '99 V70R Front end clanking
Surely not the CV joints. Could it be an endlink kicking into the control arm from a worn out anti-roll bar to subframe bushing? I haven't looked at that. Good thought! There's also a more faint sound, like a tapping, that's more suspicious I would say because it sounds constant as the wheel is rot...

'99 V70R Front end clanking
Hey, folks, A few months ago my ETM failed, but after the ol' turn it off and back on again, I was able to limp home. And while limping, I started noticing a clanking sound from the front driver's side. I replaced and reprogrammed the ETM and drove it for a bit, but the clanking continued, so I've k...

Re: '99 V70XC has gone limp!!!
Thanks, Lee. I took it into a shop and had them check codes via VIDA-DICE and they found two for intermittent speed sensor functionality. They cleared those and now we're good! Probably will be replacing the sensor along with a tranny fluid flush soon. Thinking it might be time to pick up one of tho...

Re: '99 V70XC has gone limp!!!
Yeah, I had my hopes up that disconnecting the battery for a while would do the trick, but no luck. We did take it for a test drive, and it doesn't shift. It stays in 3rd no matter what. The orange arrow flashes whether stopped or moving unless we put it in low, in which case the arrow stays lit (al...
