Re: trunk won't open

Ok, I can into the trunk, but why doesn't it open the right way? I can hear the two thunks when I unlock it, but when I push the release button over the license, instead of a groan and thunk it just makes a faint "tic". What's broke, and how do I get at it to fix it?

Re: trunk won't open

Did you look above the license plate next to the button you press to open the trunk normally? Some volvos have a plastic plug with a picture of a key on it. Twist the plug out and there is a keyhole for the master, not the valet key to get your trunk open.

Abscate, not Abscise. I have no idea why spell check wants to correct your screen name. Thank you.

Re: Low Coolant message

Thanks abscise-

Once again, just plunging ahead without waiting for good advice I went looking for the float, and poked a screwdriver or something down in the reservoir until I felt something jiggle. Now the message is off for a whole day. I'll see how it goes.

Re: XC90 "Coolant Low - Stop the Car!" Warning - May be a simple repair w/o replacing the coolant level sensor!

ALFI- I am getting the Low Coolant -Stop Engine message on my S60 and the coolant level is normal. I took the reservoir off and looked at the wires in the bottom, but jiggling/pushing them didn't seem to make them go in at all. I couldn't get my other hand on the connector so I couldn't take it apar...

Re: Low Coolant message

Thank you abscate and oragex. Before I got your reply, i lifted the reservoir looking for the sender, There were two wires going into the bottom of the reservoir and I jiggled them some. I couldn't identify the float, and I don't know if it is high, low, stuck or whatever. I couldn't get the connect...

Low Coolant message

My 2003 S60 non turbo 5 cylinder started giving me a continual low coolant message, but the coolant isn't low. Since the coolant isn't low, I drive the car and keep an eye on the temperature gauge, and the engine never seems to get hot. This has gone on for several days. Where is the low coolant sen...

Re: DIM failure on 02 V70T5 Any options?

Since turn-around times for DIM rebuilders are typically 5 days to a week, let me ask a dumb question. Can the car be operated without a DIM installed, or will that screw something else up? Some posters say turning the ignition on while the DIM is disconnected will give an SRS Service message, but I...

Re: Radiator fan only runs on high

Hi DNA16= I hope you got your problem sorted out. The only way to get my 2003 S60's fan to stop running on high, even with the ignition off, is to unplug the connector on the fan shroud, so I'm guessing the fan relay has failed closed. The fan relay is on the underside of the fuse/relay board under ...

Can't remove relay/fuse board, replace fan relay

My 2003 S60 cooing fan kept running after the car was shut off. Never noticed it before, but I had a FIAT that did it all the time, so, no problem, maybe I just didn't notice it before. The second time it happened, it completely drained the battery, and whenever there is any electricity available, j...
