Re: 1998 C70 T5 - Abhorrent fuel consumption/Could it be tim
Is there an easier process to remove/put back the timing belt, mates?

Re: 1998 C70 T5 - Abhorrent fuel consumption/Could it be tim
Intake is fine, air filter is new and the vacuum lines have all been replaced... Seems like everything points me in the timing direction!

Re: 1998 C70 - Weird oil reading/Turbo spitting oil
Indeed, misha! I sat it overnight and double-checked the level, which was indeed in the half section of the 1,5l zone (middle of the "acceptable" part of the dipstick). I added half a litre to see it rise to the top of said section.

As for the A/C, it is blowing cold air. I believe it should, indeed, be a tad stronger, but nothing too discrepant.

Re: 1998 C70 - Weird oil reading/Turbo spitting oil
Thanks very much, Lee. Being an avid reader of the forum, the PCV was the first replacement I performed when I bought the Coupe! :D Now it only spouts a very thin and transparent amount of smoke upon acceleration, which vanishes the second after.

Thanks, misha and Ozark. I performed the full relearning procedure upon replacing the sensor... No improvement.
Couldn't some mechanic in the past have messed the cam timing? Would there be any easy means of checking it?

Re: 1998 C70 - Weird oil reading/Turbo spitting oil
Thanks for the reply, rspi, you've been always helpful. I was truly scared, as I wouldn't think oil reading could change so much (much though I already knew you should not measure with your car running).

1998 C70 - Weird oil reading/Turbo spitting oil
Hello, dear forum members.
Recently I've drove the c70s 1st long trip. It turned out quite fine, stable as a monk's meditation. I reached the end of the journey smiling ear to ear. Drove around town, slept the night and returned to my city. Next day I decided to check the fluids and the turbo ...

No perceivable improvement upon changing the front O2 sensor whatsoever. Any further ideas, guys?

Re: 1998 C70 T5 - Abhorrent fuel consumption/Could it be tim
Thank you very, very much for the answers! I'll change the Coolant Temp sensor, as I have already bought one (because of the many reported failures). As soon as I have some reais, I'll spend in the O2 sensor, dear oragex!
