Re: 01 XC prop shaft carrier bearing compatibility?
Now that I have my prop shaft out, I had Automotix send me another one, from a 2001 car, for $141 shipped. All things going well, the part will last for a few years at least. Going to clean the cups on both ends before installing the "new" propshaft. If I need to take it out again, it will...

Re: 2001 v70XC front exhaust hangar on catalytic converter
Monro Muffler in Lenox MA welded the rusty bits (pictured above) back onto the other rusty bits (catalytic converter heat shield) for no charge, and there is no more rattling, or hanging from the flex pipe. He did it all right in place, by reaching up behind the cross member (that I reinstalled). Wo...

Re: 01 XC prop shaft carrier bearing compatibility?
I just dealt with that very thing. It was hard to do. I used the 1/4" bolt with the head cut off, and a brass drift to hammer it out. Also used a little heat on the cup lip. It will come out, keep at it and you'll get it out.

FCP people are really nice, but it may be bad news...
"this particular hangar only come with a replacement catalytic converter. Below I've included a link to a new unit but you may be able to find a local repair shop who would be able to weld the piece back together for you."

2001 v70XC front exhaust hangar on catalytic converter
The exhaust is hanging by the flex pipe! Probably not a good thing. The part I bought to fix it is not the right thing. The part is FCP http://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-muffler-bracket-repair-kit-s80-s60-v70-30681625?gclid=CMj4u_y5tMACFc9lfgodGjQARw that my mechanic told me to get. It does not ...

Re: 2000 V70 XC multiple codes after installing parts
We now are being told that it is an ECU problem. The local mechanic Bob Denley told first there was no signal coming from the accelerator pedal position sensor, and the throttle body itself (white sticker) likely gone bad from jump starting the car. We replaced those parts, but still have all the co...

Re: 2000 V70 XC multiple codes after intalling parts
helping my friend on this 2000 V70 XC awd car.
He has a brand new CVVT as well, but the one that went in seemed to be working by hooking up 12 v power.
