There's also a little matter of pride involved here. I haven't taken any of my cars to a shop in a decade now. I'd rather just install a new part myself.

Muffle shop charged $60 to weld it together.


Well, there's no guarantee how long something like that would last. I'd rather toss some new parts at it for a bit more peace of mind. I can weld on my own, but I'd rather not fight to take it all apart just to weld and ...

I agree, that's a nice system from IPD. I would be very tempted as well if I had a turbo car.

Just for reference I wanted to mention that I just installed a Davico cat in my daughters 04' V70.
The quality is not like OEM for sure, but decent enough. Presumably the Magnaflow is of slightly better ...

Put your VIN into any of the Volvo Web stores ( dealer parts portals) and the part number will come up, as well as other fitments. Local muffler shop can quote an aftermarket one too. In NY, junkyards can’t formally sell them, although I’ve pulled this off a few times.
