Re: New s60 owner here with oil pressure issues

Lack of oil, with evidence of a clogged PCV, was the culprit for killing the turbo, and I'd wager the low oil pressure warning. Luckily, it seems the oil pushed out from the old oil cap seal, and spared other seals in the engine. I'm not finding any other leaks at this point. I'm hoping to have it w...

Re: New s60 owner here with oil pressure issues

Sorry to revive an old thread. I recently bought a 2005 S80 2.5T AWD 144k miles with a bad turbo. Figuring it needs PCV and oil pickup seals, I have all of that coming. Engine sounds fine, minus the noise from the turbo. Low oil pressure message is present. Is the pan pretty straight forward to drop...

Re: Looked at a 2007 XC90 V8 today

There's always Subaru. I've owned 4 over the years, and they were all good vehicles. There were issues, sure, but the overall reliability was good. I found rust issues to be better than average, especially for the US-built models I owned. My '05 Forester (built in Japan) was the only one that had ru...

Re: Looked at a 2007 XC90 V8 today

If you venture into one of the GM triplets (quadruplets, if you count the discontinued Saturn), be sure to get a good extended warranty. Engine and transmission issues are semi common. A friend's '10 Acadia had the transmission replaced around 100k, and about 10k miles later, the timing chain puked ...

Re: Looked at a 2007 XC90 V8 today

Hi all! First time posting in years. I had an '04 XC90 2.5 AWD about 4 years ago, so I'm familiar with some issues. I've started looking at an '06 V8 a buddy of mine will have for sale (he buys and sells wholesale). It has about 160k miles on it, but it appears to have been very well kept. The only ...

Excellent thread. I'll be keeping an eye on mine as well, since I've been getting this message the past couple of days.

This seller seems to have a pretty good deal. It comes with everything needed, including the Vida software.

Re: 2004 XC90 2.5T Rain Sense wipers & memory seat issues

I solved the wiper issue. I just disconnected it.

I think you're on to something with the seat.

Re: 2004 XC90 2.5T Rain Sense wipers & memory seat issues

I do have them. The problem is they don't work. When I put the wiper stalk in the first position, they'll wipe probably 2-3 passes then stop. No matter how much water accumulates on the windshield, they won't wipe unless I twist the intermittent speed dial at least a click or two. Then they'll wipe ...
