Are you absolutely certain you are using the same grade of fuel. Here in Aus the difference in using 95 rated octane to 98 is very noticeable in fuel consumption and performance.

Did the task today without too much drama.

Syringed the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, removed the bleed nipples from all 4 wheel slave cylinders and then purged the lines by applying air pressure to the reservoir fill point.
