Re: Pressure when removing gas cap
My '97 960 started doing the same. And when I say it 'started', I mean - it was not doing it before, so it s not 'normal'. Also I notice issues with the engine performance when the excessive pressure/vacuum accumulates in the tank - the engive starts to misfire. My guess is that it's getting flooded...

Re: 960 Gas cap hisses when opening
Exact same issue here. Wonder if you found out what the cause was.
Or maybe someone else can share their experience?

Re: DIY: 98 V70 Brake Hydraulic Overhaul (Hoses, Seals, Park
For those that bought the vice grip locking wrench, is the 4LW or 7LW better. I see from the link below the 4lw is for 7mm-14mm, so is it better for smaller sizes as the 7lw is for 11mm-19mm or does it matter for this job because the smallest size nut is 11mm correct? http://www.irwin.com/uploads/p...

Re: ETM software
Dear Mike, Yes, I discovered similar things myself by carefully and patiently disassembling the ETM (thatnks to all the information in this and other similar threads in this forum!) I did not cut the aluminum sheathing, but simply pressed the expanded/bulged parts of the cap back, by inserting incre...

Re: DIY: 98 V70 Brake Hydraulic Overhaul (Hoses, Seals, Park
In preparation of a brake-hose job on a '99 V70 this weekend, I just went through the whole thread. Excellent material! Thanks to all contributors! One technique that was not mentioned here is the "Vise-grip-over-flare-nut-wrench" where one uses the vise-grips to tighten the flare-nut wren...

Re: ETM software
Can anyone point me to the correct procedure for transferring the software from the old to the new ETM, please? The ETM in my wife's V70 has just failed, and I'll have to replace it with a new one, because the old is nearly seized - I can barely turn the butterfly by pushing it, and the spring is un...

Re: Horrible whining noise, yikes!
Just to set the record straight, the B230 engine fitted to the 1990 740 GL is non-interference. If the timing belt snaps there will be no damage to the engine. I second that! Had an '89 740 with the famous B230F engine, that lost a timing belt while driving full speed on the highway. Engine lost co...
