At a couple of other boards there has been discussions about the down sides of flushes. Some are advocating - slow flushing - draining the pan and topping up the fluid like maintenance for 740s.

You need to add a second 12v source of power before you disconnect the battery to avoid a number of power out issues.

Your fuse box or its cover should have some spare fuses and perhaps a fuse pulling tool. If not, look in your owner's manual to see what fuses your car uses, and get some spares and a fuse puller. Early Volvo turbos were built loose. You are probably hearing piston slap. As long as it quiets when the engine gets warm, you have little to worry about.
