Re: 2012 S60 T5 Front Grille Removal

I haven't done this myself, but starting at step 48 here, they show you where to pry for removing the front grill: http://accessories.volvocars.com/en-ca/S60%2811-%29/InstallationInstruction/Document/VCC-413452-1/2012 There are apparently 14 points at which you need to pry; they also show some detai...

Re: 1998 S70 GLT Radiator nut sheered off...

Thanks all for the suggestions. I bought a rotary tool this week and some cut off discs. I decided to cut off the head of the bolt from the bottom of the car. I had to undo the SAS pump to shift it back a little bit to get enough space to get the rotary tool in place. I used a jack to support the ra...

Re: 1998 S70 GLT Radiator nut sheered off...

You're exactly right - it was the left side under the battery that broke. Did you use the Dremel to cut the bolt from the bottom side? I'm guessing if I could just cut off the head of the bolt on the bottom, then I could pull it through the top since the fixed nut is already free. I haven't looked a...

Re: 1998 S70 GLT Radiator nut sheered off...

Thanks for the advice. I don't have any of those kinds of tools... putting the car back together and will probably bring it into the shop to have them deal with it..

Darn, I was so close to finishing the radiator job too...

1998 S70 GLT Radiator nut sheered off...

I was trying to replace the radiator on my car and while removing one of the two 12mm bolts that holds the radiator to the car, the "nut" that is attached to the car sheered off and now the bolt just keeps on spinning. The "nut" is round, so I can't even get a good grip on it to ...

Re: 1998 S70 GLT Lost Thermostat Bolt

I didn't replace the ECT sensor yet - they are quite a bit more pricey when compared to the thermostat, so I wanted to just try the thermostat replacement first to see how that goes. I had found that while driving at constant speeds, the temperature gauge would drop. In severe start-stop traffic, it...

Re: 1998 S70 GLT Lost Thermostat Bolt

Thanks all - man it seemed nearly impossible to find M7 bolts! I went to my local Home Depot and they said they only carried the even numbers like M6 and M8, but no M7... a local auto parts store didn't carry any either (only M5, M6 and M8...). I ended up finding a store specializing in nuts and bol...

1998 S70 GLT Lost Thermostat Bolt

I was replacing the thermostat on my 98 S70 and accidentally dropped one of the bolts.. it is the one on the upper right corner of the housing (the more difficult to reach one close to the fuel rail). It just to the left of the housing straight down - I can't seem to see it anywhere - any suggestion...

1998 S70 GLT - What is this cylinder under the battery tray?

I had pulled out the battery tray today while replacing the starter, and I noticed this cylinder underneath it with an unnatural looking hole at the bottom corner. I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me what it is and if it is important to replace? I haven't seen any check engine lights...

Re: 1998 S70 GLT Fluctuating Temperature Gauge and hot start

Just reporting back, I found a couple places in Edmonton that do nothing but alternators and starters, Smith Electric and Alter-Start (Volvo of Edmonton pointed me to the second one). I ended up picking up a remanufactured starter from Dixie Electric through Smith Electric for $145 + $25 core deposi...
