And as a word of advice, watch out for this thing if you ever change your starter. I got careless positioning my ratchet extension under the wire loom & radiator hose to remove the starter bolts and broke this darn thing!

No, it's not the dipstick. The dipstick does have a yellow cap but it is a bit more towards the front of the car and down lower. This thing is very close to where the starter attaches on to the transmission. Right next to the the lower radiator hose as shown in the photo. Again, this is on a 01 V70X...
