Re: Vibration at low speed

It's March 20, 2019, and there is no longer have any shutter, or even shift flare for the past two months. The transmission operates great. So in my opinion, stay away from Amsoil and use Mobile 3309.

Re: Vibration at low speed

I decided to change the fluid in late October 2018, using Mobile 3309. Its December 06, 2018, and here is my feedback. The shifting seems to be a lot more smoother and I hardly notice any shift flares from 2dnd to 3rd. The shutter seems to have minimized by at least 75%. I still have shutter, but yo...

Re: Vibration at low speed

I changed the fluid with Mobil 3309 a few weeks ago, but I haven't had much time to drive it because I was out of town. However, I did notice less shift flare, and less shutter. Give me about a month to get a better feedback on the fluid change. For the video recording, I used a Nikon coolpix with a...

Re: Vibration at low speed

Summit Racing, that's where I purchased it; good price $26.99 for 6qts. And for amsoil, this is their compatibility specs for one of their trans fluids: Ford MERCON*, MERCON* V, ESP-M2C166-H, FNR5, M2C924-A; GM DEXRON* III, DEXRON* II, AutoTrack II; Chrysler ATF+4*, MOPAR* AS68RC, 68089195AA; Alliso...

Re: Vibration at low speed

I have finalized the inspection. The vibration/shutter is caused by the torque converter. I plan on changing the trans fluid to see if I can temporary fix this issue. I had changed the fluid in late 2107 with Amsoil. However, after changing the fluid I began to notice shift flares, and now the shutt...

Re: v8 XC90 trans fluid

Amsoil, hmmm. Yes, I know that this thread is old, but I want to give my opinion about Amsoil. I have been using Amsoil for everything from my XC90 to my Harley. However, I had two issues using Amsoil. Using Amsoil Primary fluid for my Harley was garbage because it caused the clutch plates to slip. ...

Re: Vibration at low speed

I made video clips of the cv joints and axle while driving slow speeds, and I was unable to observe any issues that would cause the vibration. However, in the video, you can see the transmission housing and the engine shake. The bottom engine mounts appear in good condition. I could see replacing th...

Re: Vibration at low speed

The only next thing I can do is get a long endoscope and attach it the axle areas to see where this vibration occurs. Hopefully, I didn't install a new defective cv axle. I will recheck the engine mounts again.

Re: Vibration at low speed

I checked the driveline and there was a minimal amount of backlash (a degree or two). I drove with the DSTC off, and I was able to replicate the vibration. When I use the word vibration, the feeling is more of a low pulse wobble effect. The vibration doesn't affect the steering wheel, and you don't ...

Re: Vibration at low speed

The vibration occurs once you gain speed, approximately 15 mph. It's really weird when it happens because you have to accelerate softly to have the vibration occur, and this wobbling feeling gets worse if you keep the acceleration consistent. Once I let of the pedal, the vibration goes away. This vi...
