Re: 2002 S80 2.9LSmall Jerk In Engine When In Idle
Have you tried unplugging the MAF sensor? If the engine runs normal with it unplugged it's a good sign it's the MAF sensor. Just a thought.

Re: 2005 T5 S-80 Timing belt/P2188, P0101
Well, I recently took Volvo up on there new "up to 1 hour of free diagnostics". I had decided not to start replacing parts randomly in hopes of figuring this problem out. I had diagnosed the MAF sensor as probably being the problem and had ordered two online and got aftermarket ones which ...

Re: 2005 T5 S-80 Timing belt/P2188, P0101
After thinking about it, I replaced the PCV hose that runs from under the spark plug cover and goes down to the oil trap box awhile ago. The hose pretty much disintegrated when I touched it although I don't remember it throwing the CEL. I am still going to look into the hoses though and like you I t...

Re: 2005 T5 S-80 Timing belt/P2188, P0101
I have actually been looking into the PCV system as far as maintenance goes and it is definitely on my list. Maybe I should look closer at it sooner than later. Did you change out the oil trap box? Was the vacuum leak in one of the PCV hoses? I have not replaced the MAF sensor yet as I ordered it on...

Re: xc90 P2188 code
Any luck on resolving the problem? I have decided it may be my MAF and am in the process of ordering one. I want the Bosch one that is in the car. I ordered it online and got cheap aftermarket so am in the process of getting the Bosch one still. My car has all the same symptoms and as long as I disc...

Re: 2005 T5 S-80 Timing belt/P2188, P0101
After watching some videos and some reading I have decided to replace the MAF sensor. One of the tests said to unplug the sensor while the car is running and if it runs better without the sensor than that was a pretty sure sign it was the sensor. Mine stopped stuttering and the idle smoothed right o...

Re: xc90 P2188 code
I just started a new thread tonight explaining what I had done, ie. timing belt and such. Last night I pulled it all back apart and cleaned the hose ends and pipe ends, disconnected the battery to reset the codes and about 20 miles later the CEL came back on. Thanks, Loosing more hair!!!! Who knew a...

2005 T5 S-80 Timing belt/P2188, P0101
I recently changed the timing belt, water pump and serpentine belt. While trying to make sure I was near TDC I pulled and replaced the number 1 coil pack and plug. I also removed the turbo pipe that goes across the plug cover. I drove the car approximately 40 miles and the CEL came on. The OBDII sca...
