Intermittent failure caused by dirty bulb contact could be it. I'm not sure if the message is persistent, it may depend on the circuit.

Nope

Sounds like pad deposits on the rotors. Turn the rotors or replace them if they're too old.
It could also be extremely worn frontend frame bushings, or shot inner/outer tierod ends. However those usually manifest regardless of braking

This is a common failure mode of the brake booster. There are similar cases around this forum and others.
The booster is a different part no. depending on the car year, and whether or not you have DSTC option installed. Costs about $300-500 for the part.
