the title of this thread is 89 240DL... Problem solved, take out the large center bolt (impact wrench) and then take the belts off and it slides right off (with a little pushing/tons of pulling). I tried something similar, I just couldn't get it down in there. I think I am going to be able to get that pulley off next time I get out to work on it. Apparently there are 4 10mm or so bolts holding the pulley on? I already took the large bolt out of the center with an impact wrench. Hopefully I'v...

89 240 DL Timing Belt Cover
My wifes 240 DL needed a new water pump. All was going well until I dropped a nut down into the lower timing belt plastic cover. I got the top cover off (had to take that off to get the water pump out...) but now I have to get the nut out of the timing belt area (lower plastic cover). Is there a way...
