and no cvvt started in 00 for the N/A cars. the cams are totally different with cvvt(obviously) and the swap would not have worked at all then.
I cant tell you how many junk yard motors apart to figure out if i could use the 99 engine.

The 98 uses 4 bolts compared to the 6 i believe for the 99 as far as the accessory mount bracket is concerned but the old one bolted to the new block no problems, i did have to modify the timing cover slightly for the belt tensioner to fit in. Did you get all of the grounds bolted back onto the block. Other than the main negative battery cable there are two or three bundles of black wires that bolt to the forward facing side of the block. Included in those bundles are the common wires for the ECU and its related sensors. Is this a N/A or...
