_ The Spring Seat is number #7 in the diagram. The Spring "Mount" you maybe referring to is #3 which is called a "Support plate" or "Upper Strut Mount Bearing" per IPD. Diagram: Just the first Volvo Site that came up when Googling. http://www.jimellisvolvoparts.com/sho...

2001 V70 Clunking when driving over bumps
Hi guys,
As the title says, clunking sound. I recently put on new control arms.
When i open the hood I'm able to twist the strut tower (nut) so I assume the spring seat is bad.
How do I know if the spring mount is bad?
