UPDATE:
I replaced the Cruise Control relay with one I salvaged a few years ago. So FAR it seems to be working correctly now. Still more tests in the works but no surging so far.

Re: 1996 850 Wagon ECC damper door stuck
Is there a preferred position to leave the flaps, perhaps both mid and floor distribution, thst would prevent the foam from sticking and causing this problem ? Hi abscate, I thought about this and a possible solution/fix? If you ever turn the heat up on your controls into the red where it is maximu...

Re: 1996 850 Wagon ECC damper door stuck
Thank you for the writeup. Photos would have been a bonus, but below freezing are not the conditions to grab a phone with frozen fingers while trying to restore heating. I think deteriorating foam around the flaps and too little usage are the combination to get the flaps stuck. These are the proble...

Hi All, 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon - ECC type electronic heating cooling system. Not sure if the same on the manual type controls. Re: 96 850 Turbo Wagon Pulling P0131 and P0137 Codes - Really Need Some Help On This
Vacuum lines, oxygen sensor wiring... It may be rear O2 sensor, but if you're going to delay the Parts Canon as long as possible, check that stuff first. Does your MPG suffer? Some threads that might not help, but also might: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=222903 https://w...

Re: 96 850 Turbo Wagon Pulling P0131 and P0137 Codes - Really Need Some Help On This
were these generic O2 Sensors or ones specific for the 850 Turbo? I only put in the upstream one. It is a Bosch and the numbers matched up for my Volvo. That said it had been sitting around for a couple three years . I bought it at a good price at the time. Even before I had this sensor installed I...

Re: 96 850 Turbo Wagon Pulling P0131 and P0137 Codes - Really Need Some Help On This
Looks like you did alot of what could be causing this. Even though this isn't really a fix, if you add one of these O2 sensor adapters you pull the O2 Sensors out of the exhaus a bit and the codes should be gone. not a fix for the issue, but a fix if you need the light gone for inspection. Hi, Than...

96 850 Wagon - Replace Outer CV Boot Only
Hi,
I have a 96 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon. The outer CV boots are bad/torn, inners are fine. No problem so far with CV clicking or needing replacement.
Is there a tutorial for just replacing the rubber boot without pulling the axles? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Clark
