Re: Have power, won't turn over Topic is solved

Ah, sorry, I did misunderstand. Did you isolate issue to PNP? If not, do you get 12V at remote starter wire? If you put 12V at starter solenoid terminal does starter crank okay?

Re: Have power, won't turn over Topic is solved

You are looking in wrong direction, if you hear starter clicking but not cranking, the issue is either starter, ground, battery, battery cable to starter or seized engine. Put a volt meter across the starter chassis and battery cable on starter. Have second person crank engine while you look at volt...

Re: Persistent misfire Topic is solved

Disconnect injector electrical for cyl 1 and see if idle changes. If not, you have confirmed problem with cylinder 1. Try swapping injectors with cyl 2 to see if issue moves to second cyl. Also, as RHP suggested, look for intake leak.

If you jump the starter and it doesn’t crank, your issue is battery, cables, ground, starter or seized engine.

Re: Overheating

My daughter overheated my 240 (same engine) years ago, the heat finished off a engine mount that was near due anyways. Otherwise, no quantifiable damage. Drove it for another 50k miles (250k total) and then retired it due to rust, engine was still running strong. Replace the oil immediately no matte...

Re: XC90 V8 Driver Side Rear Axle Removal! Help!

Best way is with a slide hammer. They pop out easily this way, other options have risk of damage. Borrow one from auto store. You will likely need to fabricate something to grab axle.

Re: Excessive Brake pedal travel before "bite"

I don’t understand what the vacuum pump would have to do with it unless the issue was only when cold start. I had this same exact problem a few years back on a Toyota, it was the pin/slides. Mine were in the front. My guess is that OPs issue is is in front also as the fronts do most of the work and ...

Re: 87 volvo 240 dl dies after warm up no restart

Shoot some starting fluid into manifold, does car start and run for a few seconds and die after that? If so, fuel issue. If so, do you hear fuel pump running? If not, jumper fuses 4 and 6, do you hear fuel pump now?

Re: What is this little dohickey?

A spring goes in the open end. It is re-locker pin for ignition cylinder.

Search for “locksmith Volvo ignition service” on YouTube. Use the video that is 11:39 length. It shows removal of this pin about half way through.
