Found out what was making the noise. The number 3 cylinder connecting rod cap was loose, and came completely off, then wedged between the crankshaft and engine block. The block is cracked so no rebuild possible. Will put in another engine and continue to drive my Volvo.

Found the issue, had 150lbs compression in all 5 cylinders. Then when I restarted after getting back together something in the lower engine broke and locked the engine up. Thanks for trying to help but looks like I sell the car or replace the engine. Where is a good place to look for rebuilt engines...

I had noticed a tapping when it was idling that would go away with accelerating before this current issue. Yes there was slack in the tb and the mechanical tensioner was not set properly. I am trying to get video up so you can here what it sounds like.

2000 S70 2.3l stumbled then started to tick from engine

I was driving at about 40 mph when the engine stumbled abit then started to tap. When checked the TB I found it had slipped a tooth. Not knowing when the last TB change was, I bought it used with 198,000 on, I changed the TB, wp, and pulleys. I have the timing set exactly as all the posts suggest an...
