My mechanic told me the cluster is getting a signal but the speedometer is not working nor the odometer. I was told that changing out the cluster with another could potentially make the car not start and need to be re programmed. Does anyone have an idea if this is correct. I personally do not think...

We changed out the engine in this vehicle and now the security light is flashing and it will not start. I am not the mechanic who is doing the work but this is what he relayed to me. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!
