Just a follow-up to this problem.

After diagnosing the bad fuel pump I replaced it. I opted to buy the fuel pump replacement kit rather than the Volvo full replacement. The cost for the kit was $76, the volvo pump $403. It requires you to disassemble the existing pump and reuse the outer case ...

Thanks for your help, here's what happened....

I checked for power and there was power. I reconnected the pump and nothing. Rechecked the power and it was still there. Hooked up the pump again and still nothing. Then I tapped on the top of the pump and it started to work, quite ...

I replaced the fuel pump relay and no luck. Still no gas, no sound form the pump.

I could replace the pump but not sure if that is the problem or not. Any way to test it?
