Re: 1998 S70 replacing brake lines, need some advice!
As it turned out, the exhaust was about to snap off at the silencer weld, so I ended up ripping the pipe off and making a fix with a pipe joiner to the backbox. That allowed me to paint the exhaust pipe with rust treatment/protection, while I ordered one of the rare excellent scantech parts ...

Re: 1998 S70 replacing brake lines, need some advice!
Thought I should update this thread as I never uploaded a photo of the rear brake line that I scraped and done again, as I wasn't happy about the bends I made and as my exhaust tip recently fell off after a long run on our great roads which have potholes every 10 metres!, I took some pics.

Re: Brake Flare Nut to Hose Rusted Stuck
if you have to flare the line, you can flare easily using a tool such as this

I used that to reflare all brake lines on car without any experience and haven't had any leaks. It will produce a perfect flare every time. I'm sure there is a similar tool in ...

Re: 1999 Volvo v70 Passenger side Front Wheel Play
One tip I found useful for when I checked for play before I replaced the control arm/ball joint, was once you jack the front end up (with load off suspension, as mentioned above) place a pry bar under the tyre and then check for movement in the ball joint

Re: DIY: Flaring your Brake Lines
Just to add to your additional tips. To reduce the amount of brake fluid lost, depress the brake pedal half way to the floor and keep it in that position by placing a pry bar wedged between seat and pedal. That worked for me when I had bled the brake system, only to find out I had to do additional ...
