Timing belt change question

Hey guys I didn't want to ask 2 questions in one post so here is #2. I have 93 850 turbo wagon with 210000km on it and the timing belt is due. Now I have my mechanic who I completely trust has never done a timing belt on an 850, but done several on other vehicles like hondas and such. He had suggest...

Another code!!!!

Hey guys I have had my 93 850 Turbo wagon for about 7months now. When I first got it I had some codes flash up 436 and 435 in the A2 socket. the car had 180000km on it,and surged badly when accelerating. So I gave her a complete tune up, changed the front and back O2 sensors and cleaned the MAF. Sin...

I am just wondering if maybe you could run midgrade gas and get the best of both worlds?? I think it is 5cents more than 89 octane and 5cents less than priemium per litre. Would the "middle of the road" not be okay? I am asking because I have just put in new O2 sensors and would like them ...

Hi Lee, Thanks for your response. I got code 436 which is Rear heated oxygen sensor compensation? What does this mean? For my first tank of gas I put in midgrade gas only because I saw the salesman throw in the cheap stuff for the test drive. Would that do that? I did reset the computer and it didn'...

Stupid Question Check engine light?

Hey Guys I just picked up A 94 850 Turbo Wagon, it has 194,000 km on it seems to run pretty good I did however notice a very slight shift in RPM while accelerating slowly up to any speed you can just feel the car rock a little bit back and forth while you accelerate slow. If you get on it, it goes l...

Thanks for the reply guys, my mechanic had mentioned that it was an expensive job about $700 CDN. Does that sound reasonable? To me it sounds like he doesn't want to do it! Is it a dificult job? I am not affraid to tackle messy jobs by myself. A person that has a little more than basic automotive to...

Little bit of smoke coming out of dipstick, and oilfill?

Hi guys I am new to this forum and am in the market for an 850. I talked to my mechanic and he told me to take out the dipstick while the motor is running and warm, and look to see if there is smoke coming out of it. He also said that I should take the oil filler cap off of the engine before I start...
