stuff was expensive, $17.50 and it was green. I've read that Valvoline makes a synthetic power steering fluid that is green and compatible with what volvo uses but I haven't confirmed this with any shops, I also, like you, prefer to stick with volvo fluids and parts.

I must admit, I too about laughed my way off the sofa. I might try giving the clamp another click or so. I need to top off the fluid now it is low, what fluid is required. I know it is a synthetic fluid and not ATF. I can go down to the dealer and get theirs or is there an equivalent available at th...

Other than the leak I don't think there is anything wrong with the pump. Everything sounds and runs normal. The alternator is dry, I did notice that the bracket behind the pump had quite a bit of fluid residue on it but the fluid could be leaking out of the hose and running under and around the pump...

2002 V70 T5 Power Steering Pump Leak?

While changing my serpentine belt yesterday (for some reason I didn't do this when I did the 60K service) I noticed some fluid of some kind under the car on the passenger side front of the motor. The fluid was on the oil filter and the bottom of the a/c compressor mount. It appears the trail might b...

I did use the stuff. Everything is back together and working great. Well after I had to call the dealership and have them get one of their parts guys to come in this morning to get me the correct rotors, since they were thoughtful enough to give me 11" instead of the 12" I requested when I...

Good, that's what I decided to do, although I forgot to but and anti squeak stuff when I was at the dealer today, is it really necessary? I don't use it on my truck. If it is absolutely necessary, will the stuff available from the local parts store work fine? I am about to leave to go out of town at...

V70 T5 front rotors and pads

What are everybody's recommendation for replacement rotors and pads. I have a 2002 V70 T5. I don't want anything that is going to give me problems with squealing. I live in the south so humidity is a factor. Is it best to stick with the OEM rotors and combine with ceramic pads, or is it best to stic...

Thanks for the help. I ended up going with an OEM bushing. I will probably follow JRL's suggestion as others wear out. So far there is no indication that they are going out. Knock on wood. I will say that the bushing that I removed (with the aluminum housing) was round and looked to be severely unde...
