your probably right BEJinFbk, i have rebuilt it a second time and will try it later. Been told to check circuit breaker (fuse no.37), that would explain why passenger window now does not work. As for getting a new one the 2 door ones new are over £150! so i will persevere lol

I removed the switch and dismantled it taking note of how the connections are made, cleaned them up and made them so there was more pressure on them, replaced and now only the central locking works. Even the passenger door one does not work now so I suspect the fuse/circuit breaker under the fuses ...

It is only a 2 door, the driver's side has a console with c/locking and 2 window switches, the plug cannot be swopped as it is all one piece. Glad aircon is working as it is getting warmer here.
