Oddly, after plugging in an ODB II connector, the problem went away and hasn't been back since. I didn't even have to plug the cable into my laptop. Seems weird but I'm not complaining!

A couple times while driving my speedometer, tach and mileage indicator stopped functioning. This came along with a flashing trans light, CEL, brake light and ABS light. I had the flashing arrow but otherwise no other symptoms of a faulty PNP. Decided to take it out and clean it for the heck of it. I cleaned it up, filed the contacts and greased it. After i re-installed it, im back where i started. Everything works fine, including being able to start in neutral but...
