Re: Seat Heater Fire (almost)
I contacted Volvo directly regarding this. They told me to schedule an appointment and have local stealership to assess the problem. Volvo would then consider covering the cost of the repair. Well, I already know what the problem is. Lets see, I could pay the dealer $100.00 and hope that Volvo will ...

Re: Ignition key programing in Boise
I assume it was better than the dealer - but what did they charge you for the keys and what for the programming? Not sure what they will charge, give them a call for prices. They said that they will beat the local dealer rate of 275.00 per key, plus a discount if you get more than just one made. I ...

And, of course, it may be that the clamp is just loose.

Re: '01 XC coolant spewage!
Looks like that is one of your heater core hoses. If the split is close to the end, you could try cutting it back and reconnecting it.

Yes, totally walk-in. Took about 5 minutes to cut the keys and 15 minutes to program them.

Re: Ignition key programing in Boise
Great info. What did you provide to them? Existing working keys or did you need to leave the vehicle with them? Is this a walk-in service by copying your existing key? They had new blank keys that they cut using my old key, then hooked up VIDA DiCE to the car. The new keys went into the ignition on...

Ignition key programing in Boise
If anyone in the Boise, ID area needs to have Volvo ignition keys programmed, there is a local locksmith that can do it. Advanced Lock&Key 208-891-8950. They programmed 2 for my 01V70XC this afternoon, only took about 15 minutes.

Re: Seat Heater Fire (almost)
sparky65, I had a similar issue with my '04 V70 front driver's seat. I contacted Volvo of North America and began an email correspondence with Donna. She informed me that she would contact my local Volvo dealership and alert them that I would be calling to schedule an inspection of the issue. They ...

Re: '01 XC coolant spewage!
Yes, 10 and 14 are copper crush washers. Bolt 15 has a port through center and side that pass the coolant through. Also note that the rubber end that loops back could also be the source of the leak. Leaks like these can seem to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. I'd hate to see anyon...

Re: '01 XC coolant spewage!
I should remember if the banjo bolt is to the head or to the block but I can't. I'd swear it goes to the side of the head. Yes, you can't see it without moving those lines out of the way. I would be surprised if it was coming out of the head gasket but I guess I've seen stranger things. If it is rea...
