Re: ECM-400C Three-way catalytic converter efficiency
The front s happy at 1 I am assuming you meant 1.5 vs (15) in your post. If it is 15 we have an issue. The rear should run .6 on level ground ,steady state ( like 45 mph on flat road with cruise control on. Thanks JDS. So, I did mean 15....mostly it is hovering between 1 and 5, but if you run the e...

Re: ECM-400C Three-way catalytic converter efficiency
Thanks Abscate, but the code comes back too quickly because some test is not completing. I think this points to a sensor/wiring/circuit type issue...?

ECM-400C Three-way catalytic converter efficiency
Gents: The wife took her 2007 XC70 (195k) to get inspected and failed to mentioned to me prior that the CEL had just gone on. The car failed. The car has had recent PCV service, a cleaned oil pan/sump and runs nicely. Gas mileage is reasonable for use at around 22 (mostly short trips at less...

Re: Timing Marks Off
If I remember correctly, the CVVT hub is supposed to be torqued to like 80 ft lbs. You can change timing belts, etc. without the tool, but I am not sure you are going to be able to get it that tight without the tool - or at least a homemade version.

Re: No Oil Pressure Stop Immediately. Huge Oil Leak
Sounds like the shop did not do the PCV correctly. Any chance there is a receipt and parts list? Sometimes shops clean rather than replace PCV components - from experience, not worth it. I agree with Precopster - gently work the seal back in and do the glove test. If it fails, get the oil pan down a...

Re: No Oil Pressure Stop Immediately. Huge Oil Leak
So much for the PCV. Did you clean the return passages when you did the PCV?
Did you replace seals then?
Doesn't make sense that these seals would just fail without internal pressure of some sort.

Re: No Oil Pressure Stop Immediately. Huge Oil Leak
When did you service your PCV system last? If it hasn't been serviced, it is likely clogged and the internal pressure pushed out either the cam seal or the crank seal. I would replace the entire PCV system, drop the oil pan and clean it well (including the PCV oil return passages, replace the oil pa...

Re: My 07 XC70 being held hostage.
P0016. Correct me if I'm wrong but thats the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor Bank 1 Sensor A? 1. Have you serviced your PCV system? 2. What oil are you running in your car? I have 2 2007 XC70s - one I have owned since new (188,000 miles - #1) and the second I purchased at 129,000 (#2). #1 was factory...

Now just the pesky tail gate open, when it clearly is not, warning. Thanks so much for sharing the wealth of information. Been down this road twice. First time, it was broken wire in the loom, left side of tail gate, "inside" of the hinge. You have to pull the plastic cover off, then unwr...
