the connector was not loose or anything, I didn't look at the pins for corrosion, bent, damage, etc, but I'll do that just in case, I can't imagine what else I can look at it for though... ?

I did note that you mentioned the connector. What am I looking at for that? Do you mean the little electrical plug that I unplugged from the MAF or the physical tubing itself?

It is working much better with the MAF disconnected so I went ahead and bought a refurbished one from O'Reilly for $108 (I'll get it in today) I've left the MAF with the power cable disconnected and have driven it like that.
