'98 S70 GLT For sale. Runs but has blown valve
Not sure of a good price? Please make an offer. I'm throwing in the towel. Just don't have the time to futz with this anymore and have a bad taste in my mouth as I've given it a lot of attention lately. See below: Date Mileage Work 6/16/05 66,383 4 new tires 3/17/06 69,643 Test ign and injectors - r...

Re: Blew a valve - Before I sell S70 for parts
All good feedback. Thank you very much. If I were a crackerjack volvodian like you guys I'd maybe try on my own, but I've made that mistake before.

Re: Blew a valve - Before I sell S70 for parts
Thanks for the info. I'm through with this one. How does one sell a car for parts? I guess there's a place on this site for doing such?

Blew a valve - Before I sell S70 for parts
My son was driving '98 S70 up Afton mountain on way to school and it jolted. Respected Volvo mechanic says there is no compression on #2 and its the valve and it'd be $3,700 to fix. Says if it was him he would bail on the car altogether. Is a shame as I'd just done a lot of personal work on it. New ...

Re: Rough idling, vibration, jolting acceleration - 98 S70
Thanks. Now just to find out where that hose was originally connected. Is there maybe a hose diagram for that part of the car? Even more pressing now is the electrical issue as the car won't turnover 100% of the time as opposed to 50% like before. Just a click and that's it. Hopefully it's the batte...

Re: Rough idling, vibration, jolting acceleration - 98 S70
Thanks. I ordered a new sensor. I checked the battery connections and they look fine. I'd actually given them a thorough scrubbing when I changed battery. Nothing looked loose. Any other ideas?

Re: Rough idling, vibration, jolting acceleration - 98 S70
want to give an update (have made progress) and get your take on other issues that have arisen. Not sure if I should start a new thread when introducing a new issue? Since my last post I've: - Put in new plugs - Drained the anti-freeze and replaced the heater core - Switched over to synthetic Mobil ...

Re: Rough idling, vibration, jolting acceleration - 98 S70
Excellent, thanks. Thinking about your feedback. I think my challenge is to figure out whether this is a lost cause before making a smoker. Below is what I took from your thoughts: * Watch video on motor mounts * Ascertain cause of misfiring * Change out plugs * Check date and brand of plug wires, c...

Rough idling, vibration, jolting acceleration - 98 S70
I have a New Years resolution to do some self-education on my 98 S70 followed by paying it some much needed attention. I long for the day when I drove her off the sales lot and she zipped around town with acceleration and ease. In hopes of taking a more methodical approach I'm wondering if some in t...

Re: Hitchhiking to class until 98 S70 power steering fixed
Sorry for the delay in my response. I need to set up some type of auto alert when their's been an update. - I'm sure it exists. I've yet to engage on the new rack. I'm waiting to see how well the stop leak does. It helped in the beginning but it seems to be getting rough again so I'm not optimistic.
