Re: 850 Turbo...A Couple Questions

That, I do plan to do. I was looking at Kinugawa products for this turbo and might actually get the billet adjustable BOV. It bolts in place of the CBV, comes with different springs. Any suggestions for a good sturdy diaphragm? For now, the TCV has alleviated my issue. I went to the junkyard, snagge...

Re: 850 Turbo...A Couple Questions

Hoses are correct. There is no vacuum on this system at all, its all pressure. The TCV uses the pressure from the turbo compressor housing (Red Hose) to route it to the waste gate (more pressure holds it off and raises boost) or, it dumps the pressure into the snorkel via the blue hose. You can't t...

Re: 850 Turbo...A Couple Questions

Ok so here are the test results... 1. There is no vacuum on any barb or hose. 2.Even with electrical connector disconnected...there is no vacuum on any of the three barbs or any of the hoses leading to it. 3. With electrical connector disconnected, it produces the same 5 psi. Disconnecting electrica...

Re: 850 Turbo...A Couple Questions

Sorry. I've seen it referred to as a Boost Control Solenoid in other places. In fact, I got the vibe that the language was different when referring to the older large can-style that my car has on it for some reason.

Will do these tests when i get home and report results. Thanks.

Re: 850 Turbo...A Couple Questions

Okay so I probably hit it right on the nose thinking it's a bad BCS.

850 Turbo...A Couple Questions

Starting from the top, I just recently completed some extensive repairs on my 96 Volvo 850R wagon. Head gasket, all top end gaskets, cylinder head refresh, timing belt/waterpump/pulleys/tensioner, PCV system, alternator. She runs absolutely perfect, smooth as glass, engine so quiet you can hear the ...

Re: 02 XC70 Alarm Siren/UEM Woes

That's what I figured. I was quoted 160 for the procedure plus 80 for the software.

Re: 02 XC70 Alarm Siren/UEM Woes

Alright, so I have determined the failure to be somewhere in the chip specifically, either the chip itself has failed or the software has somehow corrupted. After swapping the Motorola 0K75F chips between my original? UEM and the one I pulled from a junkyard, the problem has followed the chip. Now m...

Forgive me for the dirty talk but....

Have you considered contacting a Volvo dealer or independent shop who happens to have a legit version of Vida? Can't they program your salvaged CEM into the other car?

Re: 02 XC70 Alarm Siren/UEM Woes

^one of the first things I checked. That fuse was pulled along with the alarm fuse. Of course I've since put all fuses in place and unfortunately the condition had not changed. So here is the update. I went junkyard-spelunking today and grabbed FIVE P2 rear view mirrors. They charged me 5 bucks a pi...
