Block is normally a thousandth per cylinder. The block is much harder to warp. So normally on a 5 cylinder I'll see 2-3 thousandths max if any. I know most motors have a range. General rule of thumb I've heard is no more than .003 on a v8. And no more than .005 on a inline 6. I've never heard anything about an aluminum block inline 5....

Was fluids mixed? OP said he bought it so I imagine he doesn't know the history. Besides that's not what he asked about. I apologize if this has been covered but I haven't been able to find anything by searching. I bought a 95' 850 Wagon (88k, 5 speed swapped) for $200 that needed a head gasket (due to overheating).
