Re: Rough start and car dying on idle 04 XC70
Sorry guys! Didn't get a notification email in your replies. I've decided to lease a much crappier car that is on warranty. My preference would be to keep the xc70 as opposed to selling it for scrap... but it will depend on if I can secure a space for it. Unfortunately I don't have the time to dedic...

Re: Rough start and car dying on idle 04 XC70
Ok all here is the prognosis. Looking at approximately 3400 in repairs with tax to get the car fully fixed. Really don't know which way to go on this and would love your advice. CEL is a fault in the throttle module - 720 for a rebuilt unit Can pulleys are leaking oil on the timing belt - 1450 to ge...

Rough start and car dying on idle 04 xc70
Hey all, About 3 weeks ago I had a check engine light come on while driving. Nothing out of the ordinary with regards to drive but I pulled over and cut the ignition to see if it would disappear on start. When I turned on the car again it had a reeally hard time starting and then died on idle. I sta...

Re: Single loud click or pop when going over bump in reverse with wheel turned
This is caused by the pads falling off the shoe and jamming between the shoe and rotor. Try to find replacement pads that are riveted on. OEM ones are glued on and fail over time. Mine shredded the rotor and replacement was expensive. Hey engineer - can you provide some clarity on this? (Forgive me...

Single loud click or pop when going over bump in reverse with wheel turned
Hi All, Had my struts replaced last week with a set of aftermarket, unity brand strut assemblies (full assembly). The past two days, when reversing out of the lot at work, I'll hear and feel a click or pop as my driver side tire comes over the curb with wheels turned about 50 percent to the right. I...

Re: Can I ignore these CEL codes - EDM - faulty voltage and others
Thanks for all the tips guys. I pulled the battery and charged it for about 7 hours today, cycling between 2 and 10 amps as @beigg suggests. Put battery back in. Alarm sounded for about 3 minutes despite locking and unlocking doors with FOB but checked itself after a little time with the engine on. ...

Re: Can I ignore these CEL codes - EDM - faulty voltage and others
I could do this - borrowed an ancient car charger from a colleague. He says it works. Think it's worth a go?
Do I disconnect the battery to do this? What setting would you put it on - 12V 2 A or 12 V 10 A?
Thanks abscate,

Re: Can I ignore these CEL codes - EDM - faulty voltage and others
In your mind. Given the voltage readings above and the faults detected - am I screwed?
What you're saying is the fault light will go away after some driving if fixed, correct?
Thanks for the reply.
