Re: 1998 V70 NA - Ignition key replacement
Hi Neal, Chris here from Bragg Creek. Saw this post and it reminded me that I never got a replacement key for my 850 wagon. The key cutting place in the NE that you recommended wanted 25 dollars to cut a key but they did not have any blank keys. Found them for a cheap price at: https://www.volvovanc...

Re: found my car on google maps
No I don't think that it is mine. Don't recall parking in that area. Spent most of my time running errands and such around Brentwood and Memory Express in Dalhousie. I'll keep an eye out for you. Chris

I have the same vehicle and use to be in that area around U of C providing shuttle services for my sons who attended U of C 2008 to 2013. You might see me around Varsity drive these days so if you do give us a big Volvo wave! Chris

Re: OEM battery hold-downs? Other strategies?
I see that FCPEURO still has an economic alternative battery hold down. I purchased one recently and it does what is supposed to do. At 79 cents why not eh? Chris

Re: H7 battery install in a Volvo 850 N.A.
A good battery should be functional down to minus 45. At those temperatures we are going to stay home anyway. I have a 3500amp battery bank in the house that I can use to jump start any 12 volt auto. I do remember my father taking out the battery of the old station wagon and placing it in a slightly...

Re: H7 battery install in a Volvo 850 N.A.
Thanks for your quick reply Neil. I have the garage filled with Westfalias so the Volvos live outside. I don't use block heaters as we live off the grid and power is at a premium this time of the year. The current batteries have a CCA of 730 but the H7 is rated at 790 CCA. My pretzel logic tells me ...

H7 battery install in a Volvo 850 N.A.
In celebration of minus 33 C this morning I now need a new battery. I previously installed a H6 battery which I think correspondences to a group 48 size which fit just fine. I was wondering if a H7 batterry (group 94) would fit in the battery tray of a 1996 Volvo 850 N.A.? The h7 measures approximat...

Re: Financial Distress Parts Pool
I have a 1995 850 sedan with the 10 valve engine that is undergoing entropic therapy. Most parts are available but I am slow to get parts off the vehicle so if you need something quickly best to come out and grab them yourself. Located west of Calgary near Bragg Creek Alberta. The vehicle has over 7...

Volvo part question
I was wondering what this part is for? It came from a 1997 850 wagon and looks like a dealer give away. Bottom part looks like a bottle opener but the two prongs are interesting. Maybe a key chain thingy? Thanks Chris 20190312_160347.jpg P.S. Sorry about the inverted image. Way too difficult for me ...
