Re: Purchase Advice

Not a lot of difference mechanically to the P80, the front suspension as mentioned above is a wear item for sure. Look for water intrusion/ corrosion ahead of the door jambs from plugged sunroof drains. Can affect CEM on driver side behind dash and yaw control under passenger seat.

First things first; do yourself a favor and either download a VIDA image and purchase a cloned DiCE on ebay or wherever or get something like a icarsoft i906 to read the car and use the VIDA download as a reference. Re: replacing my 05 XC90 with 250K, which to buy? V8 vs. 3.2l Topic is solved

As far as I know, the 2007 still has issues with the transmission valve body that *may* have been corrected for 2008. The V8, while great is absolutely shoehorned into the bay and makes for time intensive, costly and more difficult repairs and replacements. As to AWD or FWD, I'd personally go with F...

Re: Front Wheels Skip Slow Speed Turns Topic is solved

What other ones for comparison? What type of surfaces? If it’s sand or gravel or wet, this would be normal with tires that do not have great traction. As the turning radius increases the inner and outer wheels spin at different speeds. Typically tires will hold traction and absorb this “pop” or ski...

Front Wheels Skip Slow Speed Turns Topic is solved

Hi, noticing that the front wheels skip when turning at parking lot speeds. Acts kind of like it's a 4 wheel drive. Happens in both directions and is not a result of full steering lock; pump is fine as well. This is on a 2006 XC90 2.5T that I recently bought, doesn't happen on my other ones. Front s...

Don't touch that bolt. Yes, there is a dipstick, remove the air intake from the radiator support and look down under the small hoses. It's there, yellow dipstick. Not positive, but reasonably sure you will end your transmission if you undo that top bolt. *edit: looks like if that top bolt is removed...

Tightening Torques for Anti-roll (swaybar) End Links- Front

Hi, getting no joy on this question on the "other forum", so this is a cross post: I've been looking online and haven't been able to find anything. Going to be replacing the front end links on my 2004 XC90 2.5T. In my copy of VIDA, it lists 3? values for torque: Anti-roll bar link in shock absorber ...

FCP alleges in their description that Idemitsu is the supplier to Volvo and that the type TLS is the Volvo OE fluid. I will be using it this week.

AW55-50SN Gear Noise from Differential/ Final Drive?

Hi, I'm an interloper on this forum, I am posting about my 2004 XC90 2.5T FWD. I'm posting here because of a shared transmission (AW55-50SN) with the V70 and S60 cars. There were not a lot of FWD XC90 of that era. Don't know if this is ok, but thought I'd give it a shot. I just bought the vehicle, i...

Wow, no idea. Is there any access if you remove the end cap panel from the dash? I think it can just be pried away?

By any chance could it be a fuse? The moonroof is fuse 26 and the lighting/alarms etc. is 27 in the panel at the driver side of the dash. Here's that part of the manual: https://volvo.custhelp.com/app/manuals/OwnersManual/om_id/635 Fuses are p.145 As to your question; I am out west, so no idea on re...

Given recent experience with my a/c, which turned out to be overfilled by the previous owner; I would highly suggest that it is worth the fifty bucks to have a professional diagnose a/c problems, even if the repair or replacement is done by you. Then your dealer has good prices. You could look at FCP euro, they are a 100% good and reliable source. Here's one kit they have, there are other brands, but for the most part, Volvo brand is best for brakes on the XC90. Not sure who makes them for Volvo, maybe someone on here knows and will post th...

Re: 2013 rear brakes- Need Advice

I think your XC may have the electronic parking brakes, so they can be done either with VIDA DICE or by hand. If it does, then it will match the video. If not, then it is pretty straightforward. Here is a good video on the by hand process. Might look into replacing the parking brake shoes while you ...

Is the pump for sure priming when you turn the key to position 2? It should prime and be audible for 2-3 seconds. No prime would make that happen.

In Vida it says to: - remove the right hand headlamp - remove one of the horns from the bracket to facilitate removal and installation - slacken the screw for the bracket (probably 10mm, is an M6) - angle out the horn and bracket - disconnect the connector There is no illustration in my version, but...

I'm not seeing a fuel pressure sensor on the T6. Check all hoses/pipes on the intake for leaks, cracks, splits etc. Also, would help if you have any way to read/ have codes read.

Re: 2003 Volvo XC 90 T6 Start up issues -- FPR???

Not sure on the FPR, but if you suspect a pressure problem, you need to measure for it. You can "rent " a fuel pressure gauge at most parts stores. Running pressure should be between 3.75bar-3.95bar or ~54-57psi. Rest pressure should remain above 2bar/29psi for 20 minutes after pump shuts off. Just ...

I agree re: saving money buying a used Volvo. But will the lack of a warranty plus the vehicle being 6 years old already with 50,000 miles put us at a great disadvantage mechanically vs. new minivan with full warranty? If you don't work on your own cars, and are concerned with repair prices, I would suggest the 2015/up Sedona; older ones have weak roofs. Given what else is out there on the road, and what I can afford for the next 10-12 years or so; I won't send my wife and family out in anything except an XC90. Ou...

Hi, I'm having problems with my a/c in my 2003 T6. It is blowing cold at first, then warm. My '03 has 178K mi., Trans was rebuilt at 49K mi. by a local shop not using "beefy" parts. I prefer the 2.5T as well, '05 and '06 have a larger side seat airbag then the '03-'04. I would not shy away from the T6 as long as the transmission has been rebuilt AND has been reprogrammed after the rebuild. The trans on my '03 has 130K mi. after the rebuild and performs well, 180K mi. on the XC....

Hi, I am about to replace the front CV joint on my 2003 XC90 T6. Assuming it is the front CV, as it is all dried up and is quite stiff...
