Re: Please Help 2006, XC90 2.5T

Ok, so not a ton of info on VIDA, but beyond what I had posted, it says in part, that: If the signal cable has been shorted to voltage, there is a risk of failure of an internal ground conductor on one of the circuit boards in the Central Electric Module (CEM). This may lead to the relay for 15-feed...

Re: Please Help 2006, XC90 2.5T

Here is the Volvo code definition: https://www.dtcdecode.com/Volvo/CEM-3F91 You could test the pump by applying 12V to it. In the link above, Volvo says that the CEM (under the dash likely where the fuel pump relay is) can suffer damage if it is not unplugged when applying the voltage to the pump, s...

Siphoning Fuel From Tank

I am writing this to share my experience in removing my old "covid" fuel from my backup XC90, 2004 2.5T which has been sitting a lot; also with an eye to using this method to get gas to run my generator in an emergency if I run out of propane. This is not a DIY, and I am not promoting this method, b...

Re: Would you buy this?

The bearings on the READ assembly were changed for the 2011 MY. If the OP bought the vehicle, the accessory belt and other related needs to be changed at 150K mi. or 10 years, whichever comes first; maybe sooner with hot conditions. Pretty expensive at a shop, but can be DIY. Here is a good thread o...

Re: Please Help 2006, XC90 2.5T

The only other place that I've seen the PEM mounted externally is right next to the fuel filter.
The 2.5T wagons and S60's are sometimes inside of the spare tire well.

Re: Purchase Advice

Not a lot of difference mechanically to the P80, the front suspension as mentioned above is a wear item for sure. Look for water intrusion/ corrosion ahead of the door jambs from plugged sunroof drains. Can affect CEM on driver side behind dash and yaw control under passenger seat.

Re: 2005 V8 XC90 burning oil leak

Usually the V8 leaks at the valve covers, and that's not a trivial job.

Re: Not sure if we got a death sentence on '07 V6 XC90... fuel pump, prop shaft, 2-3 cats + more?

First things first; do yourself a favor and either download a VIDA image and purchase a cloned DiCE on ebay or wherever or get something like a icarsoft i906 to read the car and use the VIDA download as a reference. With the VIDA/DiCE combo, you can test the fuel pump. Using a OBDII reader is worthl...
