Pete
I believe your advise is practical and logical, I’ve fixed things up to this point.
I guess I was just sick of dealing with this car.
It’s not like this is a huge job, I’m gonna drop the pan again and and do the rod bearing. It’s the smart thing to do!
Thanks,
W

Re: Leaking cam seals and exhaust VVT
Hey Kids
Thanks for all of your info
The car started fine no engine pile up
I still don't know what the tapping sound was when I was turning it over by hand but nothing was catastrophic on start up!
My timing marks looked close to dead on with my timing belt set up... your feed back on here gave me ...

Leaking cam seals and exhaust VVT
Hello from Canada,
2001 volvo v70xc experienced a cam seal failure on the intake cam causing a severe oil leak, the seal could be easily be moved with fingers behind the cam gear. This cam seal leak would empty the 5L of engine oil in a distance of 30km

Re: rad fan issue
The genuine radiators cool extremely well - my fan rarely kicks in during hot summer days when I'm stuck in traffic. Try to read the coolant temp in Vida, but the fan will only spin above 105C or so. However in warm days, it should start spinning at low speed as soon as the A/C is ON

Re: 2002 S60 - Odd transmission problem
I had a similar issue, then the car wouldn't drive, it would shift into gear and the engine would revvv up but wouldn't move in any gears. it ended up being the torque converter in the transmission. how many \Km's on the car?
Maybe that's helpful?

Re: 02 V70 XC Junk yard door - window, mirror, locks not working
normally i'd say from my experience to use the original switch if it worked and you should be ok...
Sounds like you tried that.
perhaps someone else can share their experience, I know this stuff drives me bonkers too !
