Re: Dash lights out, not dimmer or headlight switch
Except that there are two hot wires and one common going to the cigarette lighter. One is 12V to heat the lighter itself, the other is coming from, you guessed it, the instrument cluster and provides the illumination for the cigarette lighter area which is also controlled by.... the dimmer! They sha...

Re: Dash lights out, not dimmer or headlight switch
Before you go messing with relays and fuses and tearing your whole dash apart, do yourself a favor and check the wiring to the cigarette lighter/aux power port. Cigarette lighter socket may be shorted open too. Any small metal debris that may have fallen into the socket can cause a short a kill the ...

Re: Rough idle
Wrong plugs, these cars are very partial to the recommended type, I believe that year has a waste spark system and requires double platinum with double electrodes. Try a new fuel filter and cleaning the etm, too much unburned gas in the exhaust will cause the cats to get super hot and even glow. Als...

Re: 2000 S80 2.9L idle and fuel trim issues
3 months later I will reply June, thanks for the info. I'm assuming the previous owner had swapped plugs, he must have mentioned a half a dozen times that it needed o2 sensors. I have had zero transmission issues in the Volvo or any GM vehicle I have ever owned. Matter of fact, how would it be possi...

Re: 2000 S80 2.9L idle and fuel trim issues
Add fuel injectors to the list of replaced parts. Same issue. Now throwing codes for bank 1 sensor 1 and b2s2 o2 sensor no activity. Is it possible that they are plugged in the wrong ECU plugs?

2000 s80 2.9L idle and fuel trim issues
Need some advise on the next step with my 2000 s80 2.9. I recently picked up this car for just about free. Of course it had no service records but a VIN search showed no major accidents (reported of course) and that the ETM had been replaced under the recall. It had some brake issues but thanks to t...
