Re: Front End Clunk

So today I replaced the lower left ball point, it took around 35 minutes from start to finish and so far the clunk has not returned. The old ball joint was a lot worse off then I thought. A few tips for the who have never done it. Remove the steering spindle instead of trying to do it on the car, It...

Re: Front End Clunk

Thanks for the info Pete. My steering has felt a little weird when I am going slow in a parking lot and making sharp turns. There is definitely something wrong. I will check the CV joint where it goes into the transmission. I am wondering if it came out when I replaced the spring seat and sway bar e...

Re: Front End Clunk

So after chasing the drivers side clunk for a while, this morning I jacked up the car both sides and removed the tires. There are a few things that looked out of place that I have questions about that maybe someone can answer. #1 The CV joint axle shaft on the drivers side, the inner joint has a goo...

Re: Front End Clunk

I have around 174k miles. I haven't replaced the passenger side mount because it sounds like it is the drivers side. What am I looking for when I pry the ball joint? I assume that i am carefully applying pressure to the lower control arm to see if the ball joint separates? Could it be the large hydr...

Front End Clunk

I have been trying to find the cause of a front end clunk noise ( sounds like a rubber mallet hitting something) and I have run out of ideas. It only does it when i go from a stopped position and not every time. It sounds like it is coming from under the drivers floorboard, tire or tranny area. I ha...

Faulty Accelerator sensor? Is there a Vida/Dice way to test this?

So after having ECM 9150 code and service engine system light, I went ahead and did the contactless TPS refit. That code went away and now it seems like there are more issues. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start with ECM- 917F and ECM-959F? The car will also limit to 4K rpm? I als...

Re: ETM repair

I had done one a few years ago and remember when I removed the sensor, it basically destroyed the pins because they were soldered and riveted.i removed #2 to put on a saucer sensor but the issue this time is #1. At this point I don't have much to lose. I will try to put on a contactless sensor. If t...

Re: ETM repair

If I had a faulty board, wouldn't the affect the side that has sensor #2? If the ETM is retrofit with a contactless sensor, does not that take #1 sensor out of the equation? Sensor #2 seems to be working just fine. If the board is faulty, could it not even be repaired by Xemodex?
