Re: Fuel Line Question 1999 XC70

Not sure if I did this right, but here is a link that has pictures that clearly show the green line I referred to. At the bottom end, you can see the start of the covered or braided section... https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32192 https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/fo...

Re: Fuel Line Question 1999 XC70

I've just peeled off the braided cover. The line is metal and it connects to a rubber or plastic tube that continues to the front of the car. This metal line goes up to the fuel pump area at the other end, so I am assuming that it is a small section of the entire line that is metal. (It looks as tho...

Fuel Line Question 1999 XC70

I have a fuel leak on a line that comes from the underside of the car (passenger side) and goes up towards the front of the fuel tank. This line has a braiding on it as it is exposed (I guess). It looks as though the leak is at its elbow as it turns and goes up. The line originates from a plastic sh...

Oil Filter Question...

I keep reading about the S/V 70's requiring the oil filter that has a "check valve" in it such as the Mann brand. I am curious what this valve is supposed to accomplish if the oil filter remains full of oil while its upside down?! I could understand a check valve for a filter that is on it...

Re: Control arm removal?!

Is the bolt that goes through the joint threaded entirely, or just where it meets the nut on the other side?... once the nut is off...do you just start hammering on the end until it pops out?! I will try removing the main two bolts on the control arm at the frame instead, but I have a feeling that t...

Bearing/hubs quality

I have ordered hubs for my '98 and got FAG from FCP...I hear they are great. I just received ones for my '99 XC70...They are Made by "Optimal" in Germany (also from FCP)

These ok?

Re: Speedometer needle jumping around...

How do you "double nut" it to get the old one out? This sensor is a black thing about 1.5 inches and about 1/2 in. thick. The wire is perm. part of the sensor. (I believe the sensor on my 98 had a disconnect at the sensor...?!) Thanks for the ideas guys. Appreciated as always! One other th...

Re: Speedometer needle jumping around...

The sensor looked fine...The problem was securing it. The little bolt broke off and left half of itself in the knuckle. I guess the thing to do is get an extractor and then a new bolt and re-secure the sensor...?!
