I just thought that was a very plausible cause, If not I'm confident its the ECT sensor as they go quite a bit in the 850 models

Yes without a battery maintainer. Would that have shorted the system out?

The guy I got it off of gave me all the past maintenance inspections and what not, but nothing electrical ever came up. It has also been sitting for about a year. I am thinking of running codes on it tonight
