1992 240 ignition coil wiring
Can anyone help me to know which terminal wires go to which terminal on my new ignition coil? There's a red/white wire and a blue wire. The terminals are labeled -1 and +15. Based on their position using my old coil as a guide, it looks like the red/white goes to the -1 and the blue goes to the +15....

Re: 1992 240 wont start
I finally got back to the fuel lines and I removed the line from the tank side and cranked it over. Fuel came flowing out at a pretty good clip. Now that it seems the lines are clear from that point back to the tank, what's the next thing that could be clogged? fuel distributor? injectors? any sugge...

Re: 1992 240 wont start
I just noticed that the rubber hose to vacuum controller is broken. I'm not sure if this may cause some problem with its starting, but I will replace it ASAP to see what happens.
In the meantime, I am learning more about the fuel lines and how to check if they are clogged.
Thanks again.

Re: 1992 240 wont start
OK...so I put in fresh fuel, added Seafoam to the tank, sprayed some starter fluid into the air intake, and I almost got it going. I think it was just the starter fluid that was firing and no gas flow? At least I know there's a spark going on. I used almost a whole can of starter fluid trying to get...

Re: 1992 240 wont start
When I turn the key to start, I hear the fuel pump relay click once and the fuel pump sounds like it starts. Then the relay clicks again and no more sound from the fuel pump. Is this normal? If I then turn the key to start, the engine cranks, but won't start. What is the consequence of fuel sitting ...

1992 240 wont start
My 1992 240 has been sitting idle for about 6 months. The battery died so I put in a new one. I tried to start it and it won't. The engine cranks fine, but no start. I do hear the fuel pump relay under the dash click. It started without any problems 6 months ago.
Thanks.

dead '87 240
I have an '87 240 that's been off road for 2 years. It ran fine before I took it out of service. It's a father/son project to get it running and sold. We just recharged the battery and it won't even turn over. Just to make sure the battery wasn't the problem, we tried a functioning battery from my s...
