Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today? S80 ac temp sensor 9171489

Solved an airco problem where the airco stops spewing out cold air and starts giving warmer air. You can feel the compressor engaging, but no cold air. Found out with some searching that you need to replace an temperature sensor in the interior which monitors incoming air from the airco system. If t...

I have done it in the meantime, wasnt so bad. The only thing hard about this job was the ball joint, which I specifically bought an impact hammer for. With a piece of pipe I was able to "smash" the new ball joints in. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49610192411_c845378ce6_o.jpg Volvo S80 2.4T Ch...

Re: turbo hoses

Make sure the hoses are connected properly. 0.3-0.4 bar is wastegate pressure, if you have a 2.4T/2.5T, it should boost to about 0.6 bar. If you see 1.0 bar and then it cuts to limp mode, then your wastegate actuator isn't functioning properly (the actuator should open the wastegate). If you have a ...

That is also part of stage 0 if you ask me. The base for tuning should always be good, before adding more power. The rip in the intake hose should cause your car to run lean (extra unmetered air). I can recommend upgrading the intake hose with a uprated silicone one. It makes quite a difference! Als...

There is a simple test you can perform with the TCV. Blow through the tubes, a brand new TCV flows with very little/without obstruction. If you need to blow quite hard, then consider replacing it.

Only 2 holes are open if my memory serves me correct, the other one is closed by default.

Also responded on the other forum, but check your PCV system indeed. Make sure the holes in your engine are free to breathe. They can become clogged quite easily

Good one, you will notice cleaner shifting and less movement when putting the power on. A worn old wastegate actuator was the missing link when I optimized my S80 as well. After adding a boost gauge, I found out I was driving on wastegate pressure instead of "normal boost pressure". After replacing it with this Mambatek actuator (I have a 13T turbo), problem solved! https://live.static...

Afaik that should also be a round one, so

-Upper Engine mount (the round or square one)
-Front engine mount (big round one)
-Rear engine mount (big round one)
-Side engine mount (the triangle one with the metal plate)
-Front gearbox mount

That should be all.

Good tip, to clean this sensor. Please note that runs for a little while, even if you have shut of the ignition.

Also, if you disconnect that part of the dashboard and put it on ignition, you will receive an error on the dash. It seems a crash sensor of some sorts is builtin into that part.

Regarding fuel trims, they should be between -10% / +10%. The short term fuel trim might fluctuate a bit more which is ok. The most important is that the long term fuel trims are between -10% / +10%.

If these values are excessive, then you have a problem (like vacuumleaks etc etc)

Any beam pattern photos to show us? No not yet, as they need adjustment. I will see if I can come up with some pictures soon. In the meantime I also bought some US lights. European models do not have US lights, but have the cablework for it. So you only need other bulbs and bulbholders :D https://l...

Refusing to start might also be a faulty crankshaft (position) sensor. A faulty position sensor will cut the signal to the fuel pump (precaution measure to prevent fire).

You are able to plug in leds, but you will receive a constant warning. Even though the amount of lighting will improve, the "light image/beam" will become worse (I've tried). My advice would be to stick with proper halogen bulbs like Osram Nightbreaker bulbs.

Re: 2002 V70 2.4T massive oil leak

Oil lines for the cooler is possible as they are rubber. I think you will have to remove the engine tray and do some inspection.

My first thoughts were the PCV system, but I think its something else.

Replaced the restrictive factory downpipe on my S80 2.4T with a 3" downpipe from BSR Tuning. Also replaced the stock exhaust with a new one with a modified midpipe (resonator delete). Still sounds too soft, so will be looking at a nice 3" stainless catback :) From the box https://farm5.staticflickr....

I had this sensor failing in another type of car. It will not throw an error. The car just dies randomly and a failing crankshaft sensor is usuall...
